Icelandic friendlies

Hi, we are back.

Some local friendlies are running and now KR - ÍA is running.
Was gonna take +2 on ÍA but was too late. Seemed like a delegate bet since its 0-0 in half-time.

Anyway
FH - HK is on Saturday morning.
FH will probably take that easily and probably over 3,5 goals there. Played neutral ground thou but HK is more used too that stadium.

Víkingur Reykjavik - Selfoss is also on similar time this Saturday.
Víkingur are getting stronger, with signing of strong striker Helgi Sigurdsson recently. They will take this one after Selfoss lost 7-1 against KR earlier this month but they beat strong Valur 2-0 last week. My bet is on low scoring game, prob home win.

Thats it for now. I’ll be back.

Good news

BetIceland.com will be back for next season.
Stay tuned.

Offline

Site will be offline now cause of high workload in other work areas.

We will hopefully return one day.

ICE Women PR: Stjarnan - Keflavik

sportingbet.com offers today a over 3,5 goals on 1,95 on this game, Stjarnan - Keflavik Women.

This is without a doubt a solid bet. Ive already put large amounts on this. Keflavik lost 11-0 in last round against Valur and Valur and Stjarnan are similar teams.
Keflavik do however suck so badly and are in last place.

Icelandic Women

So, Icelandic Premier League is on a break while our national team loses against Netherlands at home 2-1 and probably loses in Skopje against Macedonia on Wednesday.

Icelandic Women Premier League will run a whole round on Monday (8th of June)

ÍR Reykjavik  - KR Reykjavik (WOMEN)

Relegation battle. KR has been struggling but they have a better team than IR. 0-3 for KR Reykjavik

Breidablik Kopavogur - Fylkir Reykjavik (WOMEN)

Both teams have been playing okay. Fylkir been great but Breidablik a bit of a disappointment. I think this will be a very good game and a even one. I think Breidablik will win 1-0.

GRV Grindavik - Afturelding/Fjolnir (WOMEN)

This will also be an even match. GRV has been okay at home so I think GRV girls will win 2-1.
Hard match.

Thor/KA Akureyri - Keflavik (WOMEN)

Keflavik have not won a game yet. Thor/KA will win this easily 6-0.

Valur Reykjavik - Stjarnan Gardabaer (WOMEN)

After 6 rounds, these teams are tied on the top of the table. Excellent match probably. Valur are on the top, surprisingly thou after losing several players from last season. Stjarnan have a good team, a great goalkeeper and have been improving.
Im gonna go for a draw here, 1-1.

That sums it up.

ICE PR: 6th Round

So well, its June !

Stjarnan has just been amazing. They came up from First Division as runners-up along with IBV and they have definitely showed that they are not leaveing any time soon.
But only five rounds are completed and we check upon the 6th.

Keflavik - Stjarnan Gardabaer

We’ll start with this match. Stjarnan are on the top of the table. Keflavik currently has not lost a point at home and I think they will just dominate this game.
Stjarnan will learn their lesson that they do not deserve the first spot (obviously not a fan). Keflavik will win 3-1, 3-0.

IBV Vestmannaeyjar - Grindavik

Relegation battle? No, I don’t think so. Or too soon to say. Grindavik are now on a run after their new coach and IBV scored their first goals in the last game by Fjolnir. IBV has although two strong players suspended and that might affect them. I havn’t seen the IBV team yet but Grindavik team have all the possibility to tease the top teams. I think this one will be a bore draw. IBV low scoring home stadium(so far) will prove to end 0-1, 1-1, 0-0.

Fram Reykjavik - Breidablik Kopavogur

I think the division is much more equal than ever. I think this game will prove that. Breidablik has surprised me so far this season. They have very powerful attack (scored 10 in 5 games) but their defense is like a open gate. Fram has a very strong defense and their goalkeeper Hannes Halldorsson is rumoured to be the next national goalkeeper in the coming years. Their attack thou can be repaired. Fram always keep the game in the low and the dont participate in goalscoring games.
So to mix these teams we might have some fun. I am gonna go a bit wild here and predict a Breidablik win tonight. Not draw, just the win. Fram are clear favorites and I think that there is something in their heads that will affect them and Breidablik will win tonight.
Alfred Finnbogason, young Icelandic wonderkid has hit the net in all 5 games on the season, making him the leading goalscorer with 5 goals. Breidablik young team will make a good trip (about 10km) to Reykjavik and win this one, 0-2.

Valur Reykjavik - Throttur Reykjavik

This will be a boring match.  I think Throttur will relegate this year. Play such poor football and Valur will just play with the fire tonight. Valur will win 3-0.

FH Hafnarfjordur - Fjolnir Reykjavik

Fjolnir has lost a lot of strong players since last season and clearly are struggling after losing against IBV last round at home 1-3 with 11 players on the pitch when IBV ended up with 9. Champions, FH Hafnarfjordur have showed that they will definitely fight for the top spot this year as they won KR Reykjavik 2-1 in their last match.
FH will win this one, have played two away games in a row and smashed 6 pts from them and I just can’t see Fjolnir trouble them with their run.

Fylkir Reykjavik - KR Reykjavik

Our TV match for the week and a top clash. Young Fylkir squad is very promising but are also running on a very tight group so if I’d see someone get injured or suspended they may already have a weakness. KR has a strong squad which seems to be getting together finally after struggling on pre-season. This match will be quite interesting one and a hard to bet on. I could say for sure the half-time results will be 0-0.
Both teams lost in the last round 2-1, Fylkir against Stjarnan away and KR against FH home. Both teams seem to have all players fit and nobody suspended as I know of at the moment.
I think I would go for a draw here but always when I bet draw on Fylkir they seem to beat their opponent. Fylkir has secured 9 points at their home stadium so far (which has by the way around 500 seats and is full when 2500 tickets are bought). KR has however played two away games and won them both. And KR also has not conceded in an away match yet.
Will they tonight?

Good luck guys.

ICE PR: Standings after 5 rounds

Team Pld W D L +/- Pts
1 Stjarnan 5 4 0 1 8 12
2 FH 5 4 0 1 6 12
3 KR 5 3 1 1 5 10

12 Þróttur R. 5 0 2 3 -8 2

ICE PR: 5th round

Big round today . Lots of good games.

Stjarnan Gardabaer - Fylkir Reykjavik

I think Stjarnan will lose this one. Fylkir are on a roll and they have the power.
Stjarnan main goalkeeper is banned, their sub is injured so they just got a permit from the football association to get an extra keeper. That will bother them tonight. Fylkir will take this one.

Breidablik Kopavogur - Keflavik

Also an intresting one. Think Keflavik will reach a draw here. Breidablik has shown there strength at home and Keflavik has been good for the past games.

Grindavik - Throttur Reykjavik

Grindavik new coach came in strong and Throttur has been struggling and will still do cause Grindavik will win an easy victory, securing their first home win in a long time.

Fjölnir Reykjavik - IBV Vestmannaeyjar

IBV still hasnt scored and Fjolnir has not started the season as they had wish for so this one will be intresting.
I think IBV might catch a win there but they will at least put one in the net. Yeah, maybe draw might be the conclusion here.
Fram Reykjavik - Valur Reykjavik

Big match in Reykjavik. The rivals fight !
Fram has proved their point and have a solid team but so does Valur. Valur will put pressure on them from start and Fram will show their great defensive power by holding. I think this one will be a draw. Under 2,5 goals would I bet on.

KR Reykjavik - FH Hafnarfjörður

The match of the round. The top teams fight !
KR hasnt had any points against FH in the last 8 games which is spectacular. Now they have the team to show FH that they are good. Their last game was in Super Cup where KR had their chances but FH finished theirs by winning 3-1.
The game is hard to bet on. FH hasn’t started the season as solid as they were expected but after they beat Stjarnan in the last game 5-1 they maybe have got a green light.
I’d go for a draw here, leaving Fylkir on top after the round. At least we will get a top clash draw.

Good luck ya all.

ICE PR: Valur Reykjavik - Grindavik

valurvs. Grindavik

Valur Reykjavik - Grindavik

Monday 25th May 2009 - 20:00 GMT

Last game of round 4 will take place on Monday. Strong team Valur Reykjavik will take on Grindavik.
Grindavik has been struggling at the start of the season and their attack which I thought was better has just began the season. Valur has also been struggling. They have a great team but they are just not finding the right team spirit. They find it hard to adjust to each other but on a good day they could win any team.

Grindavik has already made a coach switch. Luka Kostic, former u21 coach took over Milan Jankovic job as Jankovic stepped down. Jankovic will however be Kostic’s assistant coach which is to me something I’ve never heard before. The main coach goes into the assistant position… rare thing.

I think Valur will take this one. However Grindavik has played better away than at home so they will maybe tease Valur a bit. I think Valur will although win.
Both teams lost their last games so they will probably go crazy into this game. Their new coach will change the team up a bit so this match will be quite intresting.

Bet Valur and Over 2,5 goals.

ICE PR: 3rd round

Im kinda busy so this one is going to be short.

Keflavik - Valur Reykjavik

I think this will be good match. I think Valur might win this one. They have prob. the best strikers in the division which both are in first 11 again so they will score.
Keflavik lost their key midfielder for 1-2 months and are stuggling so I’d say Valur will take this one.

Breidablik Kopavogur - FH Hafnarfjordur

FH machine is on. They will take this one.

Fram Reykjavik - Fylkir Reykjavik

Yet another interesting match. Fylkir won both but Fram showed great power, especially defensive. Fram has always had Fylkir in their pocket so I think they will do that again tonight but if Fylkir win this one they have showed that their young all-Icelandic team has definiately something to do in top 4. Fram will win this one 2-0.
Fylkir got Albert Brynjar Ingason from Valur who went there from Fylkir 1-2 yrs ago. He is young and just the player they need. A striker. Will also be quite a interesting match. If Fram scores first I think they will finish it off.

Fjolnir Reykjavik - Grindavik

Grindavik seems to be struggling and so does Fjolnir. They great attacking power Grindavik showed us in Icelandic League Cup has definately been on hold for now but I think Fjolnir will take their first home game and win that one. Fjolnir has a good team and they will prove it by finishing off Grindavik tonight.

Thats it for now.

ICE PR: 2nd Round

First round went all to home wins. Probably cause of weather but it was not the best football weather in Iceland when all home teams won their games in First Round of new-called Pepsi-deildin.

First game of 2nd Round is on 13rd of May but the rest is on 14th of May.

13th of May
IBV Vestmannaeyjar - Breidablik Kopavogur

I think this will be quite an intresting one. IBV did perform quite well against Fram in last round but lost 0-2 with goals in the last minutes. This will definately be a hard match for Breidablik. Their team is very young but promising. IBV did not lose a point at home last year when they won the First Division and scored 28 goals in 11 matches and only concieved 5. I think IBV will win this one.

14th May
FH Hafnarfjordur - Fram Reykjavik

FH suffered a loss in First Round against Keflavik 1-0 after winning all games in the League Cup. Their captain, David Vidarsson had a red card in early first half and will therefore be banned in this match. He has played several matches with Icelandic national team and is a key player for FH but FH has many players so they will fill that spot easily. I think the first goal in this game will be the key in this game. FH will be crazy after the loss and will do everything in their power to win this one. If they have the weather okay I think FH will just finish this game off easily. Although, Fram has a great team and as I said the first goal of the game might be the key in this game. It will be low scoring one. Home win again.

Fylkir Reykjavik - Keflavik

Yet another intresting clash. Fylkir surprised Iceland by winning the strong Valur Reykjavik 1-0 at home in last round. They have an all Icelandic team and many young ones. Their youngsters seem to be quite good and will do everything in their power to win strong Keflavik team. Keflavik has a very powerful team. Few players who have turned home from Scandinavian professional football and other strong players. Their team is not as young but more experienced. Keflavik has Haukur Ingi Gudnason, former Liverpool striker who is one of the quickest strikers in the division but his finishing is not quite as good.
I can see this match go either way. I’ll put a draw here today and the first draw of the season :)

Grindavik - KR Reykjavik

Grindavik did only manage to win one match at home last year so they might have some trouble today. Scott Ramsay, their key player did not perform well in last round’s loss against Stjarnan. Their new French player, Sylvian Soumare is injured and they are having some trouble at first. KR Reykjavik has a strong team, but they managed to win Fjolnir in last round 2-1 after Fjolnir led in halftime. KR will humiliate Grindavik on Thursday and secure the first away win of the season.

Throttur Reykjavik - Stjarnan Gardabaer

Low scoring team Throttur will face Stjarnan in an intresting match I think. Stjarnan is the only team who plays their home games on artifical grass but I think they are also use to normal grass. Stjarnan has a handful of decent players and have a clever coach. They are not scared of attacking (as they of course shouldnt be) and will pose a threat in this division this year to every team.
Throttur has some quality players along with some failures. I just have no belive in them this year and must say they will get relegated. I think Stjarnan will surprise and take another win here but it wouldn’t surprise me this will end as a draw.

Valur Reykjavik - Fjolnir Reykjavik

Last match these teams played was in League Cup and ended 0-0. I think Valur will win this one. They have a superb team and weather along with a bit of unlucky did not let them score when they lost against Fylkir.
Fjolnir did well against KR in last round. They produced a new young decent midfielder who is suspended for this match cause of a red card in last one. I think Valur will just win them on the midfield and dominate. Fjolnir will have problems. Valur will take this one.

ICE PR: 1st Round

KR Reykjavik - Fjolnir Reykjavik

KR has the home advantage and a better team. Can’t see Fjolnir upset this.
KR will win.

Fylkir Reykjavik - Valur Reykjavik

Quite an intresting match. Fylkir has shown decent talent from League Cup clashes and Valur has been struggling with a team full of very good players. Both teams lost against FH Hafnarfjordur in League Cup final stages.
I’ll take a draw on that one.

Stjarnan Gardabaer - Grindavik

Stjarnan first game in Premier League in some time. Grindavik has although been showing great attacking power in last games. Stjarnan home stadium is a artificial pitch and might piss off Grindavik. I’d say many goals there and a Grindavik might catch a win.

Fram Reykjavik - IBV Vestmannaeyjar

Fram Reykjavik have a team which maybe some don’t have quite a belive in but they manage. I think they are a bit like Fulham as their home advantage is real power. They play at the largest stadium in Iceland which takes around 9500.
Think newcomers IBV will not get a point today but they have a great team which dominated First Division last year.
Fram to win.

Breidablik Kopavogur - Throttur Reykjavik

A very intresting match in Kopavogur on Sunday is this game. Breidablik has lost a lot of players and also are having finacial problems. They will play youngsters and may be suffering a relegation battle this season. Throttur play a boring football but a football that may give them few points. Breidablik are strong in free kicks and corners but their attacking play has not been extremely good for the past games.

I would say a draw and a low scoring game here.

Keflavik - FH Hafnarfjordur

This is the match of the round. No doubt. Keflavik lost the championship in the hands to FH Hafnarfjordur last season in the last round and have no the opportunity to let FH suffer. FH has been playing a great football in League Cup and has won the League Cup along with Super Cup. Keflavik has however lost few players from last year meanwhile FH has all their squad.

I think FH will win this one.

Happy betting.

ICE PR: Outright bet

Icelandic Premier League or Pepsi-deildin will start on 10th of May.

betIceland.com thinks FH Hafnarfjordur will win the league this year.

1. FH Hafnarfjordur
2. Valur Reykjavik
3. KR Reykjavik
4. Grindavik
5. Fylkir Reykjavik
6. Fjolnir Reykjavik
7. IBV Vestmannaeyjar
8. Keflavik
9. Fram Reykjavik
10. Stjarnan Gardabaer
11. Breidablik Kopavogur
12. Throttur Reykjavik

This is pretty wild and optimistic but I think the top 4 might be more realistic than the rest.

Icelandic League Cup Final

FH Hafnafjordur will take on Breidablik Kopavogur 1st of May at 16:00 GMT.

betIceland will suggest betting on FH Hafnarfjordur.

Read articles below for further details on the teams.

ICE LC: Breidablik Kopavogur - HK Kopavogur

Breidablikvs.HK

Breidablik Kopavogur - HK Kopavogur

Semi-Finals | 27th of April : 19:00 GMT - Korinn (Neutral)

Icelandic League Cup is now about to end. Breidablik and HK will meet up in a huge rival match in Korinn and at the same time FH Hafnarfjordur will meet up against Fylkir Reykjavik in a very exciting match at Fylkir’s home ground. FH has been playing wonderfully for the recent matches and are a clear favorites of winning the League Cup but Fylkir has been showing off their best sides. They are playing on younger players and are very promising.
But HK has crafted a surprise qualifying which started with a win on strong Keflavik team 3-2. Then they qualified through Group Stage by winning IR Reykjavik easily. Then in Quarter-Finals they were not even favorites against Stjarnan Gardabaer. But showed their power by beating them 6-1. HK is running a young team and so is Breidablik. Breidablik lost strong striker Marel Baldvinsson to Valur Reykjavik earlier this week and have been using an Icelandic tennis champion as one of their strikers. Breidablik do not look to confident at the moment, as they only won Throttur Reykjavik in extra time 1-0 with a header from strong defender, Kari Arsaelsson.
The venue, Korinn is in Kopavogur also and both teams have been training there. I guess HK may have some kind of an advantage with Korinn but all their wins recently has been in Korinn.

betIceland odds: Breidablik @ 1,95, Draw @ 3,15, HK @ 2.95

betIceland best bet: I think HK will win this. Maybe a (-0/0,5) AH bet on HK would do it. Would give you something back if a draw.

betIceland score: HK wins 3-1.
